Job Description: Branch Head (Dealer Principal - Automotive)

The Right Talent Sri Lanka is exclusively recruiting for a visionary and commercially astute Dealer Principal to lead a multi-franchise dealership operation in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

Reporting To: CEO / Managing Director / Board of Directors

2. Position Purpose

The Dealer Principal is the highest-ranking executive at the dealership level. You are responsible for the total financial performance (P&L), operational excellence, and brand integrity of the facility. This role requires balancing the interests of the Owners, the OEM Manufacturers, and the Customers while navigating the unique economic landscape of PNG.

3. Key Responsibilities

3.1 Strategic & Financial Leadership

P&L Accountability: Full responsibility for the dealership’s bottom line, including departmental budgets, cash flow management, and capital expenditure.
Strategic Planning: Develop and execute 3–5 year business plans to increase market share across New Vehicle Sales, Used Vehicles, Service, and Parts.

3.2 Operational Excellence

Departmental Integration: Ensure seamless communication between Sales and Aftersales to maximize "customer lifetime value."
Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to local PNG labor laws, health and safety regulations, and international OEM standards.
Facility Management: Oversee the security, maintenance, and modernization of the dealership assets.

3.3 Stakeholder Management

OEM Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for vehicle manufacturers, ensuring all franchise standards, CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) targets, and volume bonuses are met.
Community & Government: Represent the dealership in high-level negotiations with government bodies and major corporate fleet accounts.

4. Required Experience & Technical Skills

Executive Leadership: 10–15 years of automotive experience, with at least 5 years in a Dealer Principal or General Manager role.
Emerging Market Expertise: Prior experience working in PNG or similar developing markets is highly preferred due to the unique logistical and labor challenges.
Financial Mastery: Advanced ability to analyze financial statements, manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) at scale, and optimize labor recovery rates.
Brand Diplomacy: Proven experience managing relationships with premium or commercial vehicle OEMs.

5. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Net Profitability: Achieving the annual net profit percentage target for the entire dealership.
Market Share: Growing the brand’s "Share of Wallet" within the PNG automotive sector.
Employee Retention: Maintaining a high-performing leadership team and reducing staff turnover.
CSI/NPS Scores: Ensuring top-tier customer satisfaction ratings as audited by the manufacturer.
