Assistant Manager – Human Resources

We are looking for a proactive and strategic HR professional to lead the human resources function and drive organizational excellence.

About the Role

The Assistant Manager – Human Resources will be the custodian of the people strategy and operational HR for the company. Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for the entire employee life cycle. This is a leadership-heavy role where you will operate independently, supported by a Junior Executive and an Intern, to ensure that HR initiatives align with the broader business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Management: Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
End-to-End HR Operations: Manage the full employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training and development, and offboarding.
Compliance & Labor Law: Act as the subject matter expert on Sri Lankan Labor Legislations, ensuring all company policies and practices remain fully compliant.
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a Junior HR Executive and an Intern, ensuring the HR department provides efficient service to the rest of the organization.
Employee Engagement: Drive a high-performance culture by fostering employee engagement, managing grievances, and improving internal communication.
HR Administration: Oversee payroll processing, benefits administration, and maintain accurate employee records and HR analytics.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience handling comprehensive HR functions, with a clear track record of growth.
Strategic Insight: In-depth understanding of Strategic HR Management and HR best practices across all stages of employment.
Legal Knowledge: Sound knowledge of local Labor Laws and statutory compliance requirements.

Interpersonal Skills: Strong professional presence with an excellent personality and the ability to build relationships at all levels of the hierarchy.
Communication: Fluent in English with strong presentation and negotiation skills.
