Raleigh – Electrical Project Engineer (PE) – Federal Projects

About the Role
A well-established, mid-sized engineering consultancy is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer (PE) to join its Raleigh office. The firm delivers complex federal and institutional projects and is known for giving engineers ownership of meaningful, technically challenging work.

Key Responsibilities

Design electrical systems for federal, higher education, and mission-critical facilities
Deliver work across:
- Power distribution systems
- Lighting and controls
- Emergency and backup power systems
Perform technical analysis (e.g. load flow, short circuit, voltage drop)
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across multiple offices
Lead projects and interface directly with clients
Support construction and commissioning phases
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal standards

Requirements

Licensed Professional Engineer (Electrical) (or ability to obtain quickly)
~6–10 years’ experience in electrical engineering (building systems)
Background in consulting (MEP/AE) environment
Experience with federal or government-related projects
Strong technical capability with ability to “hit the ground running”

Preferred

Experience with tools such as ETAP, SKM, AGi32
Familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD
Exposure to sustainable design (LEED, etc.)
Eligibility to obtain security clearance
