About the Role

The Senior Manager – Business Development is a high-visibility leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding the hospital's market footprint. This position requires a strategic thinker who can navigate the complexities of the healthcare ecosystem, including corporate health partnerships, medical tourism, and specialist referrals. You will be responsible for identifying new revenue streams and building long-term strategic alliances that reinforce the organization’s position as a market leader.

Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Ownership: Define and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve aggressive annual revenue and patient-volume targets.
Corporate Partnerships: Lead high-level negotiations and manage relationships with corporate entities, insurance providers, and third-party administrators (TPAs) to secure preferred provider status.
Service Line Development: Identify opportunities to launch or expand specialized medical centers of excellence (e.g., Cardiology, Oncology, Transplants) based on market demand.
Global Presence: Represent the hospital at international healthcare forums and trade exhibitions to build brand awareness globally.
Physician Engagement: Build and maintain a robust referral network with independent consultants and external clinics to ensure a steady flow of patient referrals.
Community Relations: Orchestrate community outreach programs, health camps, and medical seminars to drive brand visibility and public trust.
Performance Tracking: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Bed Occupancy Rates (BOR), Revenue per Patient, and Cost of Acquisition.
Competitor Benchmarking: Stay abreast of competitor offerings and pricing strategies to ensure the hospital remains competitive and innovative.

Candidate Profile

Industry Expertise: Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in Business Development or Sales, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within the Medical/Healthcare/ Insurance sectors.
Track Record: Proven ability to manage high-value corporate accounts and drive million-dollar revenue growth.
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Management, or Hospital Administration. An MBA or a professional qualification (CIM/SLIM) is highly preferred.
Negotiation: Exceptional ability to negotiate and influence senior-level stakeholders, including CEOs and Medical Directors.
Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to interpret healthcare data and translate it into actionable business insights.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English; ability to present complex healthcare solutions clearly to diverse audiences.
Networking: Extensive existing network within the local corporate sector and international healthcare agencies.
