About the Role

The Assistant Manager is a key operational leadership role responsible for supporting the management of daily warehouse functions. You will play a vital part in ensuring the efficient storage, inventory accuracy, and timely dispatch of finished products. This role requires a hands-on supervisor who can balance operational speed with rigorous safety and quality standards in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Location: Makola, Sri Lanka

Key Responsibilities

Daily Management: Support the Warehouse Manager in overseeing end-to-end operations related to the Finished Goods (FG) inventory.
Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate warehouse staff involved in receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching activities.
Workflow Efficiency: Monitor loading accuracy and optimize warehouse workflows to meet demanding shipping schedules.
Stock Accuracy: Monitor inventory levels and lead regular physical stock counts and reconciliations with the ERP system to ensure zero variance.
Documentation: Ensure the integrity of all packing lists, loading documentation, and shipment records to facilitate seamless logistics.
Reporting: Prepare detailed operational reports regarding warehouse performance, space utilization, and inventory status for senior management.
Standards Maintenance: Enforce strict compliance with 5S standards, occupational safety procedures, and global quality requirements.
Process Improvement: Assist in the implementation of new warehouse procedures and identify opportunities for operational enhancements.
Personnel Development: Assist in training and mentoring warehouse staff to ensure a high-performance, safety-conscious culture.
Cross-Functional Alignment: Coordinate closely with production, logistics, and transport teams to ensure that finished goods are dispatched accurately and on time.

Candidate Profile

Experience & Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration is required. A Master’s degree in a related discipline is considered an added advantage.
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in a warehouse supervisory or assistant managerial role, preferably within a large-scale manufacturing or finished goods environment.
System Knowledge: Working knowledge of ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word) is essential.
