About the Role

The Assistant Manager - Digital Transformation will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between traditional retail operations and modern digital solutions. You will be responsible for identifying, implementing, and optimizing digital technologies that enhance operational efficiency, improve customer engagement, and drive data-driven decision-making across the group's retail and service touchpoints.

Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka (Onsite)

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy & Project Execution

Roadmap Implementation: Assist in executing the organization’s digital transformation roadmap, focusing on automating manual workflows and integrating legacy systems with modern platforms.
Retail Innovation: Lead projects related to Omni-channel integration, ensuring a seamless customer journey between physical showrooms and online platforms.
Change Management: Act as a catalyst for digital adoption, training cross-functional teams (Sales, Inventory, Finance) on new digital tools and platforms.

2. Process Optimization & Technology

ERP & CRM Enhancement: Collaborate with IT teams to optimize ERP usage and implement advanced CRM strategies to personalize customer interactions and loyalty programs.
Data Analytics: Develop dashboards and reporting structures to provide real-time insights into sales performance, inventory turnover, and consumer behavior.
Supply Chain Digitization: Implement digital solutions for warehouse management and last-mile delivery tracking to improve the speed and transparency of the logistics network.

3. Stakeholder Management

Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with third-party technology providers and software vendors to ensure project delivery on time and within budget.
Cross-functional Liaison: Work closely with the Marketing and Operations departments to ensure digital initiatives align with commercial goals and customer service standards.

Candidate Profile

Experience & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Information Systems, Information or a related field. An MBA or professional qualification in Project Management (PMP/Prince2) would be a distinct advantage.
Experience: 3–6 years of experience in digital transformation, business process re-engineering, or technical project management, preferably within the Retail, FMCG, or E-commerce sectors.
Proven Track Record: Experience in successfully implementing digital tools such as CRM systems, automated inventory modules, or e-commerce integrations.

Technical & Soft Skills

Tech Savvy: Good understanding of emerging technologies (AI, Cloud Computing, Data Analytics) and their application in a retail context.
Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to map complex business processes and identify digital bottlenecks.
Communication: Exceptional command of English (both written and verbal) with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
