Senior DTC Growth Manager – Shopify & Paid Media

About the Company

Our client is a skincare brand focused on selling high-quality, results-driven products directly to consumers. The company previously reached approximately $10M in annual revenue through Amazon, but after losing that channel, the business is now rebuilding and scaling through Shopify.

The company’s main priority is to turn its Retinol Cream into the brand’s hero product and use it as the foundation to scale Shopify revenue profitably. This is a high-impact role for someone who can take ownership of growth, move quickly, and directly influence revenue.

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Senior DTC Growth Manager to own and scale the company’s direct-to-consumer growth strategy through Shopify.

This is not a strategy-only role. The right candidate must be comfortable personally managing paid media campaigns, leading creative testing, analyzing profitability, improving conversion rates, and coordinating with external agencies to drive measurable growth.

The main objective of this role is to help the company rebuild toward its previous revenue level by making Shopify the primary growth channel. The ideal candidate has successfully scaled paid media in a highly competitive DTC niche and understands how acquisition, creative, landing pages, profitability, and retention work together.

This role is best suited for someone who has been directly accountable for results, not someone who has only worked in a large agency environment where performance was distributed across a large team.

Key Responsibilities

Paid Media Management

Personally manage Meta Ads and Google Ads campaigns.
Ideally manage or support TikTok Ads campaigns.
Own campaign setup, testing, optimization, budget allocation, and performance analysis.
Manage significant monthly paid media budgets, ideally $100K+/month.
Candidates with direct experience managing $50K–$100K/month may be considered if they show strong performance ownership.
Monitor CAC, ROAS, contribution margin, profitability, AOV, LTV, and payback period.
Make data-driven decisions to scale campaigns profitably.

Shopify Growth & Profitability

Own Shopify revenue growth and profitability.
Understand Shopify economics deeply, including margins, conversion rate, upsells, AOV, CAC, and retention.
Identify growth opportunities across the full funnel.
Work with leadership to define priorities, targets, and growth levers.
Help turn the Retinol Cream into the company’s hero product.

Creative Testing & UGC Strategy

Own the creative testing process across paid social channels.
Develop hypotheses for new angles, hooks, offers, and messaging.
Lead UGC strategy and coordinate creator briefs.
Work with creator platforms such as Influee or similar tools.
Analyze creative performance and use insights to guide new tests.
Build a repeatable creative testing system that can support profitable scaling.

Landing Pages & CRO

Direct landing page improvements and conversion rate optimization efforts.
Identify friction points in the customer journey.
Recommend improvements to product pages, landing pages, funnels, offers, and checkout experience.
Work with the agency or technical team to execute CRO changes.
Ensure landing pages align with paid media angles and customer intent.

Retention, Email & SMS Strategy

Provide strategic direction to the email and SMS agency.
Support retention, cross-selling, upselling, and repeat purchase strategies.
Ensure retention campaigns align with the customer journey and product positioning.
Analyze email/SMS performance and identify opportunities to improve LTV and customer engagement.

Full-Funnel Ownership

Be accountable for the full DTC funnel, from creative and acquisition through conversion and retention.
Connect paid media, creative, Shopify performance, CRO, and retention into one cohesive growth strategy.
Track results, report performance, and communicate priorities clearly.
Build growth systems that can scale beyond one-off campaign wins.

Requirements

3+ years of hands-on DTC growth, performance marketing, or paid media experience.
Proven experience personally managing Meta Ads and Google Ads.
TikTok Ads experience is a strong plus.
Experience directly managing paid media budgets of at least $50K–$100K/month; $100K+/month strongly preferred.
Strong Shopify experience and deep understanding of Shopify profitability.
Experience scaling a DTC brand profitably.
Experience owning creative testing, UGC strategy, and creator briefs.
Experience working with creator or UGC platforms such as Influee or similar tools.
Strong understanding of landing pages, CRO, funnels, offers, and conversion optimization.
Experience giving strategic direction to email and SMS marketing teams or agencies.
Strong full-funnel growth mindset, covering acquisition, conversion, and retention.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Strong analytical skills and ability to make decisions based on performance data.
Experience working in a highly competitive niche.

Preferred Background

Experience in skincare, beauty, cosmetics, wellness, supplements, personal care, or a similar DTC category.
Experience scaling a hero product or flagship product.
Experience with highly competitive DTC niches where creative testing, paid media efficiency, and funnel optimization are critical.
Experience working directly inside a brand rather than only in a Shopify-focused agency.
Experience with Shopify apps, bundles, upsells, subscriptions, post-purchase flows, or retention tools.
Experience rebuilding or scaling a brand after losing a major sales channel.

Important Candidate Notes

Candidates from Shopify-focused agencies are not the ideal target unless they can clearly prove they personally owned results, budgets, and decision-making.

The client prefers candidates who have worked directly for brands or in environments where they were accountable for revenue and profitability.

Skincare experience is preferred but not fully required. However, candidates must have experience in a very competitive DTC niche. If they have only worked in easy, low-competition categories, they will not be considered a strong fit.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on DTC growth operator who can personally manage paid media, understand Shopify profitability, lead creative testing, and connect every part of the funnel to revenue.

This person should be highly accountable, analytical, creative, and commercially minded. They should know how to scale a product profitably, not just increase spend.

They should be comfortable working with agencies, but they must be able to lead the strategy, challenge assumptions, and hold partners accountable. The client needs someone who can directly contribute to rebuilding the company’s revenue through Shopify and help turn the Retinol Cream into the brand’s hero product.
