Position Summary

This role offers the opportunity to join a specialized Methods, Credits & Incentives Research & Development Tax Credit practice as a Corporate Tax Manager. You will provide sophisticated tax advisory services on R&D tax credit matters, lead client engagements, manage complex tax projects, and collaborate with senior leadership to drive business development. From day one, you'll have the autonomy and responsibility to ensure all engagements meet firm standards while building and supporting your team.

Must-Haves

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field
Active CPA license or JD with active attorney's license (required)
6-10 years of professional experience in R&D tax credits or related experience in Fixed Asset or Tax Accounting Methods
Minimum 4 years of experience in accounting or tax within public accounting or consulting
Demonstrated project management experience
Strong knowledge of federal and select state R&D tax credit rules and relevant case law
Proven experience amending tax returns
Excellent time management skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent engagements
Superior verbal and written communication abilities
Willingness to travel to client sites as needed and work extended hours when required

Primary Functions

Conduct client site visits, facility tours, and fact investigations to identify relevant information for R&D tax credit analysis
Analyze client accounting records, prepare cost lead schedules and cost summary schedules, and perform tax computations
Prepare comprehensive written reports documenting findings and tax positions
Manage multiple concurrent projects, coordinating timelines, deliverables, and team resources
Partner with project managers to ensure successful project execution and client deliverables
Support business development activities including client identification, proposal development, and pursuit strategies
Supervise R&D tax credit projects and research evolving tax issues
