Software Engineer (Python) – DevOps / CI/CD

Location: Remote (Europe-based) Employment Type: Full-Time Working Hours: 10:00–18:00 CET, with intentional overlap into U.S. morning hours (approx. U.S. East Coast) for collaboration

About the Company

We are a rapidly growing U.S.-based technology consulting and software engineering firm that designs and builds scalable, high-performance systems for clients operating in complex, highly technical, and regulated industries.

Our work spans custom software development, systems integration, cloud and infrastructure modernization, and DevOps automation. We partner closely with our clients to deliver solutions that are reliable, production-ready, and built to hold up under real-world conditions and regulatory scrutiny.

This role is the first of a growing European team, supporting client work where accuracy, accountability, and clean engineering practices matter as much as speed.

About the Role

We are hiring a Python-first Software Engineer to build and maintain the backend systems at the core of our client delivery. Python is the primary focus of this role (roughly 80% of the work); Azure DevOps and CI/CD form the remaining focus, supporting how that code is tested, deployed, and kept reliable.

Much of our client work sits in regulated environments, so we place a high value on engineers who are comfortable working with care, structure, and documentation, and who understand why controls and traceability exist. Experience in a regulated industry, and pharmaceutical / life-sciences work in particular, is a strong differentiator.

You will work directly with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, contributing across the full development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development (Primary Focus)

Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs in Python
Develop business-critical application logic and ensure systems are reliable and maintainable
Write clean, well-documented, production-grade code

Deployment, CI/CD & Azure DevOps (Supporting Focus)

Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
Support deployment workflows and system reliability
Contribute to code reviews and engineering standards

Collaboration & Delivery

Engage directly with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements
Communicate clearly in English with both technical and non-technical audiences
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

5–9 years of professional software development experience
Strong proficiency in Python for backend development
Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
Proven track record delivering production-grade applications
Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows
Strong written and verbal English communication
Experience working directly with stakeholders or clients
Experience working in a regulated environment (strongly preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

Pharmaceutical / life-sciences domain experience, including validated GxP systems and computer system validation (CSV)
Containerization experience (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with system integrations and data workflows
Familiarity with frameworks such as Flask or Dash, or frontend technologies
Additional cloud experience within Azure

Ideal Candidate Profile

You are:

A Python-first engineer who treats CI/CD and tooling as a means to reliable delivery, not the main event
Genuinely proactive; you surface issues and move work forward without being chased
A strong, clear communicator in English, comfortable working across a U.S./Europe time overlap
Collaborative and low-ego, at home in a small, growing team
Comfortable in high-accountability, regulated environments where documentation and traceability matter

Why Join Us

Work on complex, real-world systems for clients in demanding, regulated industries
Be a foundational member of a growing European team
High-impact role with direct client interaction and room to grow technically and professionally
