Electrical Engineer (PE)

Position Overview
We are seeking a licensed Electrical Engineer (PE) to support the design and delivery of complex building systems across a range of projects. This role involves leading electrical design efforts, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, project ownership, and a practical understanding of construction and coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Lead electrical system design for building projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
Prepare construction documents, specifications, and calculations
Perform load calculations, short circuit analysis, and coordination studies
Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders throughout project lifecycle
Review shop drawings, submittals, and respond to RFIs
Conduct site visits and support construction administration activities
Ensure designs meet local, state, and national codes (e.g., NEC, IECC, NFPA)
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance as needed
Manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field)
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
5–10+ years of relevant experience in building systems design
Proficiency in design software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, SKM, ETAP, or similar tools)
Strong understanding of electrical codes and industry standards
Excellent communication and coordination skills

Preferred Experience

Experience in healthcare, government, commercial, or institutional projects
Familiarity with energy modeling, sustainability practices, or life cycle cost analysis
Experience with design-build or fast-track project delivery methods
