Job Title: Senior AV Design Engineer

Overview
A leading technology integration firm is seeking a highly skilled Senior AV Design Engineer to join its growing team in New York. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with a strong background in audiovisual system design, client engagement, and delivering complex, large-scale AV solutions across corporate and commercial environments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and engineering of advanced AV systems, including conferencing, collaboration, digital signage, and integrated control solutions
Translate client requirements into detailed system designs, schematics, and technical documentation
Produce drawings and documentation using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Visio
Collaborate closely with sales, project management, and installation teams to ensure seamless project delivery
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
Conduct site surveys, needs analysis, and system commissioning support where required
Ensure designs comply with industry standards, best practices, and client specifications
Support RFP/RFI responses and contribute to technical proposals

Required Experience & Skills

5–10+ years of experience in AV system design or engineering
Strong knowledge of AV technologies, including DSPs, control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX), video conferencing platforms, and signal distribution
Proficiency in design and documentation tools (AutoCAD, Revit preferred)
Experience designing solutions for corporate, enterprise, or high-end commercial environments
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals as they relate to AV systems (AV over IP, etc.)
Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

CTS-D certification (or equivalent) strongly preferred
Experience with large-scale or high-profile AV deployments
Familiarity with BIM workflows and standards
Knowledge of current industry trends and emerging AV technologies
