About the Role

We’re partnering with a highly respected fire protection engineering consultancy to hire a Senior Fire Protection Engineer for their San Francisco team.

This is a high-level, technically focused role working on complex, high-profile projects across sectors such as aviation, infrastructure, commercial, and mission-critical facilities. The position is ideal for a senior engineer who wants to focus on technical excellence, project leadership, and delivery, without the pressure of a heavy business development quota.

You’ll play a key role in leading projects, supporting junior engineers, and delivering high-quality fire and life safety solutions across California and beyond.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Lead fire protection engineering projects from concept through construction
Provide advanced code consulting and life safety analysis
Design and review fire alarm, suppression, and smoke control systems
Prepare technical reports, calculations, and design documentation
Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and AHJs
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development
Participate in project meetings and act as a technical lead with clients
(Optional) Support client relationships and business growth activities

What We’re Looking For:

8–15+ years of fire protection engineering experience
PE license in Fire Protection Engineering (required)
Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, IBC/IFC, and California codes
Experience in a consulting engineering environment
Strong technical design and problem-solving skills
Ability to lead projects and communicate effectively with clients
Experience in aviation or complex infrastructure projects is a plus
