Senior Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Indian Head, MD (On-site)
Type: Full-Time

A leading engineering and consulting firm is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to support renovation and upgrade projects for existing buildings and power distribution systems at a secure government facility.

This role is ideal for a highly motivated engineer who can work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop electrical design requirements and review design packages
Prepare design deliverables including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
Support renovation projects involving:
- Electrical power systems
- HVAC systems
- Emergency generators
- Surge protection and lightning protection
- Grounding and bonding
- Control and telecommunications systems
Conduct technical reviews to ensure compliance with UFC, NEC, and other applicable codes
Provide input to proposals and support projects from concept through final design
Prepare technical reports and design documentation
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders
Serve as a project or design manager on assigned projects

Qualifications:

8+ years of experience (10+ preferred) in electrical engineering
Experience designing electrical power systems for building renovations or upgrades
Professional Engineer (PE) license required or in progress
Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC)
Experience with grounding, bonding, and lightning protection systems preferred
Experience with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
Strong communication and organizational skills

Requirements:

Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
U.S. Citizenship required

Compensation:

$100,000 – $180,000 (depending on experience)
