Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance Assistant / Accounting Support Specialist to support the accounting and finance operations of a growing real estate and hospitality company. This role will work closely with the bookkeeper and accountant, assisting with reconciliations, billing, general ledger coding, expense reviews, and day-to-day accounting support.

The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and capable of identifying discrepancies rather than simply processing transactions. Experience with AppFolio is a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Support general ledger coding and transaction reviews
Assist with billing and accounts-related processes
Prepare and maintain account reconciliations
Review fees, allocations, charges, and accounting entries for accuracy
Identify discrepancies and investigate unusual transactions
Support the accounting team with daily finance operations
Maintain organized financial records and documentation
Analyze and review accounting data using Excel or Google Sheets
Assist with process improvements and workflow efficiency
Work within AppFolio or similar accounting/property management systems

Requirements

3+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, finance assistant, or related experience
Experience with GL coding, billing, and reconciliations
Strong Excel skills
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Excellent written communication skills
Reliable internet connection

Experience working with U.S.-based companies
