A well-established premium franchised motor dealership in the Western Cape is looking for an experienced Financial Manager to take ownership of its finance and administration function.

You'll sit at the financial heart of the dealership, working closely with the Dealer Principal and departmental managers while leading an experienced finance and administration team.

This is a hands-on role with real responsibility, and we're looking for someone who knows dealership finance inside out, works confidently and independently, and can be relied upon to keep the financial side of the business firmly under control.

The Role
You'll take responsibility for the dealership's complete financial function, including:

Full month-end management accounts and reporting across New, Used, Demo, Parts and Service
Trial balance review, reconciliations and Actual vs Budget reporting
OEM financial reporting and compliance
Journals, accruals, provisions and fixed assets
Floorplan reconciliations and stock funding
Debtors and creditors oversight
Daily cash and banking reconciliations
F&I, DIC, warranty and motorplan reconciliations
VAT submissions and tax compliance
Maintaining strong financial controls and audit readiness
Leading and supporting a small, established finance and administration team
Providing the Dealer Principal with accurate financial information, commercial insight and dependable day-to-day support

The role will also include limited financial responsibilities for a related property company.

We're looking for a career Financial Manager. Someone who takes pride in knowing their dealership's numbers, understands the rhythm and deadlines of motor retail finance and enjoys being the dependable person management can turn to when answers are needed.

You'll need to be confident enough to work autonomously, resilient enough to handle pressure and competing priorities, and professional enough to work effectively with different personalities and management styles. You don't need constant direction.
You see what needs doing, take ownership and get it done.

Minimum Requirements

B.Com Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
Minimum 5 years' relevant financial management experience
Motor dealership finance experience is essential
Franchised/OEM dealership experience essential, with premium-brand exposure highly advantageous
Strong understanding of dealership management systems, floorplan funding, F&I and OEM incentive/claims processes
Excellent knowledge of VAT and South African tax compliance
Advanced Excel skills
Strong month-end, reconciliation and reporting experience
Proven ability to lead a small finance/admin team
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines
Strong commercial judgement and communication skills
An interest in AI and technology would be advantageous, as the business has embraced AI extensively within its operations
