Redherd is supporting a global technology business hiring a Security Engineer in Johannesburg. The business holds ISO 27001 and is SOC 2 Type II audited. You would own the Microsoft security estate hands-on: Entra ID and Conditional Access, Defender and Sentinel detection work in KQL, Intune device compliance across Windows and macOS, and automation in PowerShell and Graph. The controls already exist, so this is engineering and improving them rather than building from scratch or auditing them. It suits 3 to 5 years of hands-on Microsoft security at individual contributor level. Two client interviews, hybrid at three days a week in the Johannesburg office, and the team has notably long tenure. The client asks for your matric certificate and academic transcripts at submission, before they meet you. The package is discussed on the clearing call.
