Sr. Embedded Firmware and Controls Engineer

Our client is a venture-backed manufacturing startup building advanced automated production facilities in the U.S. They are hiring their first Sr. Embedded Firmware and Controls Engineer to own controls and embedded firmware across large-scale industrial manufacturing equipment. This hands-on role develops control algorithms, embedded firmware, PLC logic, and motion control systems, including servo tuning, trajectory planning, and closed-loop control. You'll work across hardware, software, and controls through machine bring-up and commissioning. Bachelor's degree in engineering; 4+ years of embedded firmware or controls experience; hands-on motion control, servo drives, encoder feedback, and hardware bring-up experience. Beckhoff TwinCAT, Structured Text, RTOS, and industrial machinery experience preferred. Austin, TX | 100% onsite | Relocation assistance provided | Up to 20% travel
