Braze CRM Specialist

Employment Type: Full-Time, Independent Contractor

Work Model: Remote

Work Hours: Dedicated US Eastern Standard Time (EST) alignment (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET)

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on, highly execution-focused Braze CRM Specialist to take technical ownership of a newly licensed Braze platform for a fast-growing experiential entertainment and location-based gaming company operating over 40 corporate facilities across North America.

In this seat, you will act as the core technical executor bridging disparate data streams—connecting our third-party booking engine, proprietary in-facility gameplay tracking systems, and Braze. Working closely with growth leadership, you will turn lifecycle strategies into automated, multi-channel customer journeys (Email, SMS, In-App). Utilizing advanced Liquid syntax, you will personalize dynamic messaging for distinct player segments (families, competitive gamers, youth, and corporate/B2B groups) to drive repeat visit frequency, customer retention, and lifetime value.

Key Responsibilities

1. Braze Campaign Execution & Journey Building

Canvas Flow Engineering: Build, test, and deploy multi-channel lifecycle messaging, Canvas flows, and automated triggers directly within Braze.
Template Administration: Construct, configure, and maintain scalable message templates and reusable content blocks across email, SMS, push notifications, and in-app messaging.

2. Advanced Liquid Scripting & Dynamic Personalization

Liquid Code Development: Write, validate, and maintain Liquid syntax inside Braze to deliver dynamic, personalized messaging based on real-time booking history, player behavior, and gameplay achievements.
Granular Segmentation: Utilize custom attributes, event properties, and behavioral data to build highly targeted player segments and retention cohorts.

3. Data Plumbing, System Integration & QA Testing

Data Stream Connection: Partner with technical and engineering teams to ensure clean API integrations, event tracking, and custom attribute passes between our booking engine, venue systems, and Braze.
A/B Testing & Optimization: Design and execute structured A/B and multivariate tests (subject lines, timing, copy variants, channel mix) to optimize open, click, and re-booking conversion rates.
Rapid Issue Resolution: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for same-day troubleshooting, campaign bug fixes, and data sync resolution—ensuring zero downtime during peak mid-to-late week booking windows.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Braze Mastery: Proven, hands-on experience building, managing, and troubleshooting campaigns and Canvas flows directly inside Braze (candidates whose experience is limited strictly to HubSpot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or Klaviyo will not qualify).
Liquid Syntax Proficiency: Advanced proficiency writing and debugging Liquid code for dynamic content personalization within messaging templates.
Data & Technical Literacy: Deep technical understanding of API payloads, event tracking, custom attributes, event properties, and how data syncs between external SaaS platforms and Braze.
Execution & Tactical Focus: Strong "doer" mindset—while creative assets, copy, and visual designs are provided by internal marketing leads, you will own technical assembly, data mapping, QA testing, and execution.
Time Zone Alignment: Full daily availability to work dedicated full-time hours matching 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM US Eastern Time (ET).
Security Compliance: Willingness to operate within secure enterprise remote desktop environments (e.g., enterprise secure browsers) following standard compliance protocols (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR).

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience managing CRM campaigns for location-based entertainment, multi-location retail, hospitality, gaming, or event-driven consumer brands.
Familiarity with connecting venue-level POS, ticketing, or custom booking systems with central marketing automation hubs.

Success Metrics (KPIs)

Execution Accuracy & Velocity: Flawless technical deployment of Canvas flows and dynamic Liquid templates without campaign errors or data breaks.
Conversion & Re-Booking Impact: Demonstrable improvements in player repeat visit frequency, email/SMS click-through rates, and lifecycle retention metrics.
System Health & Resolution Speed: Rapid resolution of same-day campaign bugs and data sync flags during peak operational periods.
