SOC Technical Specialist — Intermediate

Redherd is supporting an established cybersecurity consultancy hiring a SOC Technical Specialist in Johannesburg. This seat is half analyst, half engineer. You would monitor, investigate and hunt across client environments, and also deploy, configure and maintain the Elastic and Wazuh platforms that power the SOC, from agent rollout and log onboarding to detection tuning and platform health. It suits two or more years in a SOC or technical security role, with hands-on experience of both Elastic and Wazuh and confident Linux and Windows administration. Portuguese or French is a bonus. The role is office-based with flexible hours, with travel to client sites for installations and support. A practical technical assessment covering alert investigation, log analysis and troubleshooting is part of the process. The package is discussed on the clearing call.
