MalaceHR is seeking an experienced Operating Engineer to support the day-to-day operation of a commercial facility. This position is ideal for someone who can work independently, make sound decisions, prioritize competing maintenance needs, and provide direction to other team members.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial facilities background, experience coordinating with vendors, and the ability to interact professionally with tenants. While HVAC familiarity is important, this position is broader than a traditional HVAC-focused role and requires knowledge across multiple building systems.

What This Job Involves

The Operating Engineer will help oversee building operations, maintenance activities, vendor coordination, and tenant service requests. This individual will serve as a senior technical resource for the facilities team and will be expected to assess issues, determine priorities, provide direction, and escalate specialized repairs when necessary.

This role requires someone who is comfortable taking ownership of facility issues rather than simply waiting for direction.

Mentor and support less-experienced maintenance team members
