Role: Lifecycle & Email Marketing Manager 66133661745

Priority Location: Latin America

Working Hours: 9AM - 5PM (Mon - Fri) US Pacific Time

Salary Range: $2,500 - $4,000 USD ($) per month (The final offer is at the client’s discretion and depends on the candidate’s interview result, skills, and experience.)

Type of contract: Independent Contractor

Type of job: Remote

About the Company:
The company is a private educational platform, deal-sourcing community, and small business listing aggregator. Founded by a serial entrepreneur, our platform connects aspiring business buyers with active small-to-medium business listings to streamline the acquisition process.

About the Role:

The company is a membership platform for people buying small businesses. Every email and SMS we send to users affects whether they start a trial, convert to paid, stay, and succeed. This role owns all of that messaging, from the first message a new trial member receives through to announcements, renewals, and win-back campaigns for lapsed members.

You will work directly inside Braze every day, building, testing, and running the flows and campaigns that carry our communication with users.

Our product and growth direction is already set. What we need is a hands-on owner who builds and runs the messaging program, measures what it does, and improves it every week.

This is an execution role with real ownership. Ideas are always welcome, especially where a message or flow is underperforming. But your core value is building, testing, and running messaging that works.

Ownership boundaries:

You own all email and SMS sent to the company’s users in Braze: flows, campaigns, announcements, and their copy.

Our Head of Product owns the product onboarding experience and churn and retention strategy. You build and run the messaging that supports those goals, and you agree targets and triggers with them.

Our Website & Conversion Specialist owns the landing pages and the signup step. You own what happens in Braze after signup.

What You’ll Do:

Own All User Messaging

Build, launch, and maintain every email and SMS sent to SMBmarket users: trial, new member, paying member, lapsed member, and win-back
Write and edit the copy for each message, keeping SMBmarket's voice consistent
Plan and run announcements for product launches, pricing changes, live calls, and community events

Build and Run Braze Flows

Build multi-step Braze Canvases for trial nurture, trial-to-paid conversion, activation, re-engagement, and win-back
Set up triggers, segments, and timing using product and billing events so the right message reaches the right person
Test every flow end to end before it goes live: triggers, personalization, links, and suppression rules

Test and Optimize

Run A/B tests on subject lines, content, send timing, and offers
Report results clearly, with a simple recommendation on what to keep
Keep a testing log so the team can see what has worked and what hasn't

Own Data Flow and Deliverability

Confirm that user events from the product, PostHog, and Stripe reach Braze correctly, and flag gaps quickly
Keep audiences matching between Braze and GoHighLevel before each send
Protect sender reputation: list hygiene, bounce and complaint monitoring, and suppression management
Keep SMS consent and opt-out handling compliant

Measure and Report

Track opens, clicks, conversions, unsubscribes, and revenue impact for each flow
Report weekly on messaging performance, including its effect on trial-to-paid and retention, with the Head of Product

Qualifications & Skills:

7-10+ years of experience in lifecycle, CRM, or email marketing, ideally for a subscription or SaaS business with US customers
Required: Hands-on experience building multi-step flows and campaigns in Braze (Canvas, segments, and events)
Experience with messaging for trial and subscription businesses, including trial nurture and paid conversion
Strong copywriting for email and SMS, with a clear, persuasive voice
Proven experience running A/B tests and interpreting results correctly
Working knowledge of PostHog or Google Analytics 4 for event tracking and analysis
Working knowledge of Stripe data (trials, payments, renewals) so messages match billing events
Knowledge of email deliverability and SMS compliance (TCPA)
Experience with GoHighLevel or a similar CRM is a plus
Strong written and spoken English (C1 or above)
Full availability during US business hours (Pacific Time)
Basic HTML/CSS for email layout is a plus, but not required

The Type of Person Who Will Succeed:

The person who succeeds in this role thinks in sequences. A welcome email is only the first step of a journey, and you design the whole path.
You build, test, and check before anything sends. You confirm the trigger fires, the link works, and the audience is right.
You write like a person, not a brand. Your messages get read because they say something useful.
When a flow underperforms, you find out why and fix it.
