Interim Manufacturing Finance & Strategy Lead | Yorkshire | £500-£600 a day

The numbers tell one story. Can you see the bigger picture?

Some interim assignments need someone to keep control of the numbers. Others need someone who can get beneath them, understand how a business really operates, and help leaders see the bigger picture.

This is an opportunity for someone who knows manufacturing operations finance inside out, but doesn't stop at the factory gates.

We're looking for an experienced interim to bring together operational insight, financial understanding and commercial judgement on a high-profile, confidential business project. The brief calls for someone who can move comfortably between the detail of day-to-day operations and the wider questions that shape business performance.

Where you come in

You'll need to get close to the operation. Understand what drives performance, where capacity sits, how processes and constraints affect output, and what the numbers are really telling you.

But operational detail is only half the story.

You need to be able to step back and ask the broader questions. What are the commercial implications? How might different options affect customers, margins and the wider business? Are the assumptions sound? What might be missing from the analysis?

This is where your combination of operational finance expertise and wider business acumen will matter most.

You'll bring structure to complex information, test the thinking, explore alternatives and translate your findings into clear, practical recommendations that help senior stakeholders make informed decisions.

The person behind the numbers

You could come from operational finance, manufacturing finance, commercial finance or a broader transformation environment. The exact job title matters less than the depth of your experience and how you apply it.

You'll bring:

Manufacturing operations finance expertise: You understand the operational drivers behind performance, not just the financial results.
Commercial and business acumen: You can connect operational decisions to their wider business implications and take a genuine whole-business view.
Analytical rigour: You're comfortable working through complexity, challenging assumptions and turning data into meaningful insight.
A questioning mindset: You explore different perspectives, consider alternatives and aren't afraid to challenge conventional thinking constructively.
Stakeholder credibility: You can build trust quickly, navigate sensitive conversations and draw insight from people across different functions.
Objectivity and discretion: You can approach complex questions with an open mind, handle confidential information appropriately and focus on what is right for the business.

You'll be comfortable operating without a ready-made answer or a predetermined conclusion. Instead, you'll bring the independence of thought, curiosity and sound judgement needed to work through the options.

Why consider it?

This isn't a routine reporting assignment or a role where the analysis ends in a spreadsheet.

It's an opportunity to apply your experience to a complex business challenge, influence the quality of the thinking and help turn detail
