HR Manager

Employment Type: Part-time (20 hours per week) for the first 6 months, then Full-time, Independent Contractor
Work Model: Remote
Work Hours: US Business Hours alignment (CET time zone preferred)

Role Overview

A growing SaaS company is hiring an experienced HR Manager to formalize its HR operations, protect its intellectual property, and build people processes that scale with a growing, distributed team.

You will work directly with the CEO and take ownership of HR work that senior leaders currently handle informally, including hiring, contracts, onboarding, employee records, and payroll inputs. The company has outgrown its early processes, so you will also bring an outside perspective on what is mandatory, what is missing, and what is unnecessary.

Take ownership of HR tasks currently handled informally by company leadership
Review existing HR practices and advise leadership on what is required and what is not
Keep employee records and HR processes accurate and current

Compliance & IP Protection

Prepare and manage employment and contractor contracts and NDAs
Make sure intellectual property protections are in place for every new hire
Maintain HR compliance across a distributed team of employees and contractors, working with legal counsel as needed

Recruiting & Hiring

Own the hiring process end to end, so leadership no longer has to
Define the profile needed for each role and write the job descriptions
Coordinate recruiting across engineering, sales, marketing, and creative roles
Support and coach the existing junior HR support so they can help with hiring

Payroll & Payments

Coordinate payroll inputs with the relevant owners and make sure they are accurate and on time
Manage contractor and employee payments in Deel

HR Systems & Employee Lifecycle

Run onboarding and offboarding, including coordinating access requests with the relevant owners
Keep time off and employee data current in BambooHR

Required Qualifications

Senior, hands-on HR experience in a SaaS or technology company
Experience working directly with founders and C-level executives, including mediating tensions and challenging leadership constructively with sound judgment and discretion

Experience handling employment and contractor contracts, NDAs, and intellectual property protections during onboarding
Experience running onboarding and offboarding and keeping employee records and HR processes organized
Experience bringing structure to informal HR processes in a fast-growing company
Hands-on experience using Deel to pay contractors and employees
Able to work independently with little day-to-day oversight

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with BambooHR for time off and employee data
Familiarity with time-tracking tools used for distributed teams
