Work Schedule: 9AM - 6PM EST (NY), Monday through Friday
Salary: Market Related

About the Company
We are a high-growth consumer brand platform dedicated to acquiring, scaling, and operating high-potential direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands in the U.S. Backed by institutional venture funding and experienced leadership, our portfolio generates substantial revenue driven by strong recurring subscription models. We operate with high autonomy, speed, and operational excellence, building an enduring ecosystem of consumer products.

About the Role
We are looking for an Email & SMS Marketing Manager to take end-to-end ownership of retention marketing across a portfolio of multiple distinct DTC consumer brands.

A significant portion of portfolio revenue is subscription-based, meaning email and SMS serve as critical infrastructure for onboarding, retention, and lifecycle engagement rather than just promotional blasts. Reporting directly to the Head of Retention, you will execute every aspect of the channel: strategy implementation, segmentation, copywriting, template building, A/B testing, deployment, and performance analysis.

This is a hands-on-keys execution role, not an agency management position. You will work inside retention tools daily, build layouts directly, and leverage modern AI workflows to iterate copy, pull insights, and move fast without bottlenecks.

Key Responsibilities:
Email Lifecycle & Campaign Management

Build, optimize, and maintain automated lifecycle flows across all brands (welcome series, browse/cart abandonment, post-purchase, replenishment, winbacks, dunning, and cancellation-save workflows).
Own the campaign calendar end-to-end: segmentation, copywriting, asset assembly, thorough QA, scheduling, and post-send reporting.
Build advanced behavioral segments based on order history, subscription status, and engagement tiers.
Manage sender reputation and deliverability: monitor domain health, manage sunset policies, maintain inbox placement, and enforce warmup discipline.

SMS Channel Ownership

Treat SMS as a distinct, high-intent channel with a dedicated strategy and cadence.
Build SMS automation flows and regular campaigns while balancing revenue optimization against send-frequency fatigue.
Drive compliant list growth via on-site capture, checkout consent, and post-purchase touchpoints.
Ensure strict adherence to carrier regulations, quiet hours, and consent requirements.

Testing, Analytics & Data Integrity

Deliver weekly performance reporting: attributed vs. incremental revenue, revenue per recipient, open/click engagement, conversion rates, and unsubscribe/spam metrics.
Design and execute disciplined A/B tests with structured hypotheses, control groups, and clear post-test decisions.
Differentiate clearly between platform-attributed numbers and true incremental lift.

Creative & Copywriting

Write compelling, on-brand copy for subject lines, preview text, email body copy, and SMS.
Adapt and enforce distinct brand voices across diverse product categories.
Build modular, responsive email templates in Klaviyo and make basic asset/layout adjustments directly in Figma to avoid creative bottlenecks.

Candidate Profile:

3+ years of direct, hands-on Klaviyo execution. You personally build the flows, segments, templates, and campaigns (managing an external agency does not qualify).
Proven SMS experience. Hands-on ownership of SMS programs (Klaviyo SMS, Attentive, Postscript, or similar) covering flows, list growth, and compliance.
DTC E-Commerce Background. Practical experience within the Shopify e-commerce ecosystem.
Sharp Copywriting & Brand Intuition. Proven ability to write clear, conversion-focused direct-response copy across multiple brand identities.
Data Fluency. Confident pulling raw metrics, evaluating channel health, and investigating sudden shifts in performance.
Flawless Attention to Detail. Rigorous QA process to eliminate broken links, faulty dynamic tags, rendering issues, or invalid discount codes.
AI-Fluent Workflow. Practical comfort using modern AI tools (such as Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) to accelerate copy drafts, research, segmentation, and everyday QA.
Excellent Written English. Clear, concise, and asynchronous communication skills across distributed time zones.

Nice To Have:

Design Competence: Ability to open Figma to crop, tweak, and format assets or design email modules independently.
Subscription Mechanics: Experience with platforms like Recharge, Skio, or similar subscription tooling (churn mitigation, skip/swap flows, dunning).
Multi-Brand Management: Experience juggling simultaneous retention calendars for multiple brands.
Deliverability Recovery: Direct experience repairing domain reputation or overcoming spam-filter issues.
On-Site Conversion Tools: Experience working with UGC/review platforms (e.g., Okendo, Yotpo)
