Cold Caller

Employment Type: Full-Time, Independent Contractor

Work Model: Remote

Work Hours: Ontario Business Hours alignment (Eastern Standard Time)

A specialty contractor serving large residential buildings is looking for a remote cold caller to open up new refurbishment opportunities by phone.

About the role

You will call property managers and building administrators to find out one thing: have the common areas of their building been refurbished in the last 10 years? The goal is information gathering, not closing sales. Your answers help the business decide which buildings to pursue. You will work from call lists provided by the team, and each week you will give the business development lead a list of promising buildings to go after.

Required Qualifications

Experience making outbound cold calls to businesses
Comfortable calling property managers, building administrators, and similar contacts, including getting past gatekeepers to reach the right person
Clear, professional spoken English with a neutral accent that is easy for North American listeners to understand
Able to keep up a steady calling volume, with roughly 100 cold calls per week as the starting target
Able to work from provided call lists and record each answer accurately
Able to turn call results into a clear weekly list of target buildings

Preferred Qualifications

Experience reaching decision makers in industries with layers of approval and a lot of red tape
Experience supporting a longer sales cycle, where early outreach feeds deals that take months to close

Responsibilities

Cold call property managers and building administrators from provided call lists
Ask one qualifying question on every call: whether the building’s common areas have been refurbished in the last 10 years
Log each answer so the business development lead can act on it
Deliver a weekly list of potential buildings to pursue
Reach roughly 100 calls per week

Who thrives in this role

Persistent and consistent, able to show up and dial every day
Polite and patient with gatekeepers, and comfortable asking the same question many times
Organized, with clean notes that someone else can use
Resilient about rejection and short, unproductive calls
Curious about a niche market that does not run on quick, simple sales
