Job Type: Permanent
Salary: $80,000 CAD Annually

The Marine Electrical Project Manager owns the delivery of electrical, wheelhouse and integration refit and newbuild projects from award to handover. Plan and coordinate technicians, electricians, subcontractors and shipyard activities, including vessel access and trade interfaces.
Manage procurement of equipment and materials, including long lead items, and track purchase orders and deliveries.
Control project financials: budget against actual, change orders, progress billing and job costing in NetSuite.
Make sure work meets contract, class, regulatory and safety requirements, and that quality checks, test records, as built drawings and handover documentation are complete.
Run regular site and customer progress meetings and resolve issues and claims quickly.
Coordinate with the NavComm and Automation teams on projects with integrated scopes.
Report project status, margin and risks to the Director of Operations.

Requirements:

Diploma or degree in electrical engineering, marine engineering or technology, or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years of experience managing marine electrical, refit or shipbuilding projects.
Solid knowledge of marine electrical systems, including power distribution, switchboards, cabling and navigation integration, and the ability to read electrical drawings and single line diagrams.
Proven skill in planning, scheduling and budgeting, with project management tools and an ERP system. PMP certification is an asset.
Experience with government or public sector contracts, such as Canadian Coast Guard refits, is an asset.
Bilingual in French and English.
Ability to obtain Canadian Reliability status and a Controlled Goods Program assessment.
Valid driver's license, and willingness to travel to shipyards and vessels.
Organized, calm under pressure and comfortable leading technicians and subcontractors.
