THE POSITION: Aerospace Machinist

DUTIES:

Reading and understanding the Job Traveler (Including Router)/ Customer Specifications.
Works closely with Lead Aerospace programmer
Assign which jobs need to be run per the Aerospace open job report and which machinist runs them
Responsible for Aerospace machining jobs meeting the delivery date
Use 2-1/2, 3 & some 4 axis programming to assist the head programmer when needed.
Excels in 3,4 and 5 axis machining, Knows G & M codes.
Makes adjustments in the machining programs, constant efficiency of tool paths to decrease cut time and still achieve a high-quality part to drawing requirements
In-depth knowledge of GD&T & Aerospace standards
Knows how to do Setups and modify G code programs without assistance
Works and is comfortable with tight tolerance Aerospace parts.
Knows the proper way an Aerospace part needs to be machined per Datum call outs
Identify parts with a marker to maintain traceability.
Complete Inspection documents accurately.
Understands the different types of raw materials and it’s effects on machine types and the part being cut.
Can set up & operate efficiently on 2 CNC machines when needed
Inspects own parts and make adjustments when necessary
Follow the ISO quality standards and fill out appropriate paperwork correctly.
Maintain Daily Machine preventative maintenance by Company’s standards
Works efficiently and brings upper management new ideas if they see room for improvement
Follow Company Safety guidelines and brings and takes protocol if he/she sees anything unsafe.
Always coaching team Aerospace machinist to improve their knowledge of Aerospace machining, job set up, cutters, tool-pathing, feeds and speeds, and possible raw material stresses on a machined part can result in part movement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Has own tools, more than what is required
Interpretation of Aerospace Drawings.
In-depth knowledge of GD&T & Aerospace standards
Advanced knowledge of machine tooling and geometrics
Excels in Math, Geometry, and Geometrics
Excels in measurements
Able to work in a team and get along with co-workers.
Attention to detail, especially documentation.
Must-Know math well
Be able to work flexible hours.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
Prioritizing skills and ability to follow instructions.
Responsible, organized, reliable, and punctual.
