Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Government Affairs, the Coordinator of Government Affairs provides administrative and logistical support to ensure the effective functioning of the Government Relations team, including maintaining organizational systems, member communications, and other support as needed.

Responsibilities

Lead Government Affairs special projects, including the member guides, board meeting materials, and other initiatives.
Monitor congressional hearings and develop effective summaries to distribute to members.
Conduct legislative research on policy issues that impact the technology sector.
Assist with legislative analysis and advocacy by providing redlines and summaries, tracking relevant legislation, drafting letters and reports, and other activities as directed.
Research, verify, and use data, contact addresses, and other information for blogs and communications with legislators and policymakers.
Coordinate all ITI Government Affairs Committee meetings, policy roundtables, and social events.
Provide support for all aspects of meeting and GR event promotion, support, and member participation, including assisting in speaker identification, recruitment, confirmation, and follow-up.
Maintain the ITI PAC database and coordinate and help schedule and facilitate ITI PAC fundraising events.
Edit and proofread letters, reports, and other various documents for appropriate diction, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Update and edit advocacy materials as needed.
Research, create, and maintain mailing and member recruitment lists.
Ensure compliance with all lobbying registration and ethics requirements, including but not limited to the LD-2, LD-203, and the HGLA.
Maintain up-to-date records of all Government Affairs related events.
Perform other duties, including administrative support, as assigned.

Required Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree in public policy, law, business, or a related field preferred
Minimum of one year of relevant work experience; internship experience on the Hill is a plus
Familiarity with the United States federal government, including the Administration, agencies, and Congress
Proficiency in relevant software programs, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Understanding of communications and social media content development (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter)
