Director of Fundraising and Communications

Location: London office, Greenwich with up to 40% homeworking (currently under review)

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Salary: £80,579-£85,929 per annum, dependent on experience

Action Against Hunger UK, the humanitarian and development network organisation, is seeking a Director of Fundraising & Communications to deliver their ambition to double private fundraising revenues by 2025.

Action Against Hunger’s vision is a world without hunger. The charity’s mission is to save, improve and protect lives by eliminating child hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of undernutrition, especially during and after emergency crises caused by situations of conflict, displacement, poverty, discrimination, inequalities or natural disasters.

The role of Director of Fundraising and Communications will be key to the charity’s success in delivering their ambitious five year strategy, for both the UK and international network, which aims to establish a global movement in the fight against hunger. The role will lead the development and implementation of fundraising and communication strategies that will generate the long-term sustainable growth of both private income and the profile of Action Against Hunger within the UK.

The charity is looking for candidates with extensive senior management experience in fundraising and/or communications with a proven track record of successfully growing income and profile. You will also have substantial knowledge and experience in management, strategy and budget definition across a range of fundraising/marketing channels. You will be able to demonstrate skills of managing complex and multi-million pound budgets, as well as of creating and maintaining high-performing teams.

Finally, you will need to be a strategic thinker and be able to act as a change and improvement catalyst, seeking out opportunities for innovation, and with the courage to take risks.
