Position Summary:
The Controls Engineering Manager will lead the electrical and controls portion of projects during the development, maintenance, operation, and commissioning of controls systems. As the department leader, the controls engineering manager determines the applicability of existing designs, or a new suitable solution and design, and specifies material for procurement for the customer order. Familiarity with controls methods and technology as it relates to equipment is essential. This position will utilize education, experience, judgement, and leadership in order to be successful.
This is a full-time, in-person working manager position. Candidates must reside locally or be willing to immediately relocate.
Key Responsibilities:
•Design PLC-based control systems that conform to the requirements of NFPA 86.
•Review customer specifications and mechanical designs to ensure technical and functional requirements are met.
•Determine suitability of instrumentation and controls equipment.
•Design and check P&IDs and electrical schematics.
•Create Bill of Material and other documentation for order processing and customer submittal.
•Write specifications and obtain quotations for instrumentation and electrical equipment.
•Create PLC and HMI programs for controls systems.
•Documentation of controls manuals, functional descriptions, and other job records.
•Commissions control systems at customer sites (Travel Requirement: up to 25%).
•Lead and mentor departmental personnel.
•Drive process improvement changes to increase quality, efficiency, and cross functional collaboration.
•Partner with the global companies to standardize processes.

Qualifications/Skills:
•BS Degree in engineering with an electrical/programming background (Electrical, Computer Science, Mechanical).•Minimum of 6 years of increasingly responsible Controls Engineering roles, including 3+ years in management.•Knowledge of Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLC platforms.•Experienced in the development of PLC and HMI programs.•Knowledgeable in AutoCAD-Electrical•Ability to design Panels and Control Systems for custom applications.•Detail oriented with a drive for accuracy.•Highly flexible with strong organizational and time-management skills while meeting strict deadlines.•Effective communication skills with the ability to engage and influence the department and cross functionally.•Is a self-starter, strategic thinker, innovative, and•Maintains a positive temperament and objective approach while under stressful conditions.•Takes responsibility and is accountable for expectations and actions.
