Job Overview:
As the Director of Engineering, you will oversee all aspects of the resort's engineering operations, ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance of physical assets and facilities. You will lead a team responsible for maintaining high standards of safety, sustainability, and guest satisfaction through proactive maintenance and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

Developing and Maintaining Department Goals:
- Set and uphold departmental goals in alignment with resort objectives.
- Review financial reports to assess department performance against budgets.
- Make recommendations for capital and operational expenditures (CAPEX/OPEX).
- Collaborate with resort leadership to identify and address operational challenges.
Managing Budgets:
- Prepare annual operating budgets with a focus on efficiency and productivity.
- Implement energy conservation programs to minimize utility costs.
- Ensure procurement meets quality and cost standards.
Leading Team:
- Utilize strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead and motivate the engineering team.
- Foster a culture of trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
- Set and exceed performance goals, ensuring alignment with overall resort goals.
- Champion innovation and process improvements.
Planning and Organizing:
- Manage stock levels and prioritize departmental workload.
- Implement fire safety training and develop safety policies.
- Execute annual preventive maintenance plans.
- Supervise repair and maintenance activities, ensuring high standards and timely completion.
- Coordinate with contractors to ensure adherence to schedules and standards.
- Manage special projects from inception to completion.
- Drive energy conservation initiatives.
Managing Human Resource Activities:
- Provide guidance and performance standards for team members.
- Foster effective communication within and outside the engineering team.
- Support leadership in wage and expense management.
- Recruit and develop team members to meet operational needs.
- Conduct performance reviews and address employee concerns.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Years of Experience: Minimum 5 years as a Director of Engineering in a large-scale hotel or resort.
University degree in an engineering field.
Professional qualifications are Preferred.
Proficient in English or other languages is an advantage.
Experience in remote locations.
Additional expertise in fire safety, energy optimization, and emergency scenarios.
