The Recruitment Podcast EP. 1: AI vs YOU

Last updated: 17-02-2026

“Candidates should feel like Beyoncé at the Grammys, not just another act at karaoke night.”
Brian Fink said it best—AI might change recruitment, but it’s on you to make sure candidates feel like more than just a number in the system!

In this debut episode of The Recruitment Podcast, hosted by Kate O’Neill(opens in a new tab) and powered by Recruit CRM, Brian(opens in a new tab) dives into how you can make solid use of AI without falling behind.

Let’s explore the highlights!

AI isn’t going anywhere and so are recruiters

There’s been a lot of chatter about whether AI will replace recruiters.

But Brian clears things up right away: recruiters are here to stay.

“If you’re a recruiter who isn’t using AI, you will be replaced by a recruiter who is,” Brian explains.

After all, it’s not a competition between humans and technology.

AI is here to take over your grunt work

Remember those days when you were spending hours reviewing resumes?

Those tasks are now being handled by AI. In fact, 90% of recruiters say 50-75% of their recruitment tasks are now handled by AI agents.

It also frees you up to think bigger and focus on strategy.

That said, AI can sometimes feel a little impersonal, which is where you need to step in to make sure candidates feel more heard.

It’s okay if AI is not perfect

AI might be a powerhouse, but it’s not without its flaws.

One of the biggest issues is bias. Since it learns from data, it can unintentionally reinforce stereotypes or unfair practices.

Brian stresses the importance of keeping an eye on your AI tools.

Regular oversight ensures they’re promoting fairness and inclusivity, not creating problems.
