Job summary:

We're looking for a Barista to prepare coffee and espresso drinks and serve guests at [cafe or restaurant name]. The right person makes drinks to a consistent standard, keeps the bar clean, and gives friendly, fast service.

Baristas set the tone for every guest visit. Quality drinks and quick, friendly service build repeat customers and drive sales during busy periods.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare espresso drinks, brewed coffee, tea, and specialty beverages to recipe.
• Dial in espresso each shift by adjusting grind size, dose, and extraction time.
• Steam and texture milk and milk alternatives for drinks and latte art.
• Take orders and payments on [Square, Toast, or the POS system] and handle mobile and delivery orders.
• Recommend drinks and explain coffee origins, roasts, and brew methods to guests.
• Ask about allergies and follow allergen procedures for milk, nuts, and other ingredients.
• Restock cups, syrups, milk, and pastry displays during each shift.
• Clean and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and brewers on a set schedule.
• Follow food safety rules, including temperature checks and date labeling.
• Open or close the cafe, including cash counts and closing checklists.
