Job summary:

We're looking for a Production Manager to plan and run daily production at our [facility type]. You'll set schedules, lead shift supervisors, and solve problems on the floor so orders ship on time and to specification. The right person knows manufacturing, uses data to make decisions, and leads people well.

Production managers turn customer orders into finished products. Good scheduling, staffing, and problem-solving in this role raise output, cut waste and overtime, and keep delivery promises to customers.

Key responsibilities:

• Build weekly and daily production schedules using material requirements planning (MRP) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
• Assign labor and equipment across lines and shifts to meet output targets.
• Lead shift supervisors and run daily production meetings to review safety, quality, and output.
• Track production KPIs, such as output per hour, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), scrap, yield, and schedule attainment.
• Find the root cause of production problems with tools, such as 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, and 8D reports.
• Reduce changeover time and downtime using methods such as SMED, and plan preventive maintenance with the maintenance team.
• Manage the production labor budget, including overtime and temporary staff.
• Work with quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to prevent material shortages and quality holds.
• Enforce safe work practices and support incident investigations under OSHA rules [or HSE rules (UK), WHS laws (AU), or the OSH Code (India)].
• Train and coach supervisors and operators on standard work and new processes.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• [X]+ years of manufacturing experience, including [X] years in a production supervisor or manager role.
• Experience building production schedules in MRP or ERP software, such as SAP S/4HANA, Oracle NetSuite, Epicor, or Plex.
• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and root cause analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for production data and reporting.
