Job summary:

We're looking for a Leasing Agent to fill units at [property or portfolio name] and help residents through the move-in process. You'll answer inquiries, give tours, process applications, and prepare leases. The right person is friendly, organized, and comfortable meeting monthly leasing targets.

Leasing agents keep occupancy high and turnover costs low. Quick follow-up, accurate paperwork, and a good first experience help the property fill vacancies faster and keep residents longer.

Key responsibilities:

• Respond to phone, email, and online inquiries from prospective residents quickly.
• Give in-person and virtual tours of units and amenities.
• Explain rent, fees, lease terms, and community rules clearly.
• Process rental applications, including credit and background screening, in line with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) [or local data protection and screening rules].
• Treat every applicant equally under the Fair Housing Act and state fair housing laws [or the Equality Act 2010 (UK), state anti-discrimination and tenancy laws (AU), or state rent and tenancy laws (India)].
• Prepare leases, renewals, and move-in paperwork, and collect deposits and first payments.
• Keep prospect and resident records current in property management software, such as Yardi, RealPage, Entrata, or AppFolio.
• Follow up with prospects and track leads, tours, and signed leases.
• Run move-in inspections and help with resident renewals.
• Help with marketing, such as listing updates, photos, and resident events.

• High school diploma or GED [or GCSEs, a Year 12 certificate, or a Class 12 pass]; some college is a plus.
• [X]+ years of leasing, sales, or customer service experience.
• A real estate or leasing license where your state requires one [or local registration where required].
• Experience with property management software or the ability to learn it quickly.
• Valid driver's license, for multi-site roles.
