Job summary:

We're looking for a board-certified Ophthalmologist to diagnose and treat eye diseases and perform eye surgery at [company name]. The right person delivers medical and surgical eye care for patients of all ages and works closely with optometrists and technicians.

Ophthalmologists protect and restore patients' vision. Accurate diagnosis and strong surgical outcomes reduce vision loss, improve quality of life, and grow referral volume for the practice.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive eye exams, including slit lamp and dilated fundus exams.
• Diagnose and treat conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.
• Perform cataract surgery and other procedures such as [YAG laser, SLT, or intravitreal injections].
• Order and interpret OCT, visual field tests, and fundus photography.
• Provide pre-operative evaluations and post-operative care.
• Prescribe medications, glasses, and contact lenses as needed.
• Supervise and work with ophthalmic technicians, optometrists, and surgical staff.
• Document visits and procedures in [Nextech, ModMed EMA, or other EHR].
• Take part in [shared call coverage] for eye emergencies.
• Follow HIPAA [or local privacy law], infection control, and surgical safety standards.

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completed ACGME-accredited ophthalmology residency.
• Board certification or board eligibility through the American Board of Ophthalmology [or a CCT in Ophthalmology (UK), FRANZCO (AU), or an MS in Ophthalmology (India)].
• Active, unrestricted medical license in [state] [or GMC registration (UK), AHPRA registration (AU), or state medical council registration (India)] and active DEA registration [US only].
