Network Administrator

Job summary:

We're looking for a Network Administrator to run and secure [company name]'s wired, wireless, and cloud networks across [number] sites. The right person configures switches, firewalls, and VPNs, monitors performance, and fixes problems fast.

Network administrators keep every office, app, and remote worker connected. A stable, secure network prevents outages and protects company data from attacks.

Key responsibilities:

  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, and wireless access points from vendors such as [Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, or Meraki].
  • Manage firewalls, VPNs, and network access controls with [Palo Alto, Fortinet, or similar].
  • Design and maintain VLANs, IP addressing, DHCP, and DNS.
  • Monitor network performance and uptime with tools such as [SolarWinds, PRTG, or LogicMonitor].
  • Troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues using packet captures and logs.
  • Apply firmware updates and security patches to network devices.
  • Connect on-site networks to cloud environments such as [AWS or Azure].
  • Review firewall rules and network logs for security issues.
  • Keep network diagrams, configurations, and runbooks up to date.
  • Take part in an on-call rotation for network outages.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and VPNs.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls and wireless networks.
  • CCNA or CompTIA Network+ certification.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools.
