Job summary:

We're looking for an Inventory Manager to control stock levels across our [warehouses, stores, or production sites]. You'll set reorder rules, run counts, and keep system records accurate so we have the right items in the right place. The right person is organized, comfortable with data, and able to lead a small team.

Inventory managers balance product availability against the cost of holding stock. Good inventory control cuts stockouts, reduces write-offs, frees up cash, and gives finance numbers it can trust.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage inventory levels for [raw materials, components, or finished goods] across [number] locations.
• Set reorder points, safety stock, and min/max levels based on demand forecasts and supplier lead times.
• Plan and run cycle counts and annual physical counts, and investigate and resolve variances.
• Keep inventory records accurate in [enterprise resource planning (ERP) or warehouse management system (WMS) software], such as NetSuite, SAP S/4HANA, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or Fishbowl.
• Run ABC analysis to set count frequency and focus on high-value items.
• Manage lot, serial, and expiry tracking, and apply FIFO or FEFO rotation where needed.
• Track inventory KPIs, such as accuracy, turns, days on hand, carrying cost, and stockout rate.
• Find slow-moving and obsolete stock and work with purchasing and finance on actions and write-offs.
• Support month-end close with inventory valuation reports and reconciliations.
• Hire, train, and schedule inventory staff and set clear procedures for receiving, put-away, and issuing stock.

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• [X]+ years of inventory or materials management experience, including [X] years supervising staff.
• Hands-on experience with ERP or WMS software and barcode scanning systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP, and basic forecasting.
• Knowledge of inventory costing methods, such as FIFO and weighted average cost.
• Experience running cycle count programs and variance investigations.
