Job summary:

We're looking for an Environmental Engineer to design solutions and manage compliance for [industry, e.g. manufacturing, construction, or energy] projects. The right person understands federal and state environmental rules, writes clear technical reports, and works well with regulators and project teams.

Environmental engineers protect air, water, and land while keeping projects permitted and on schedule. Strong compliance work avoids fines and delays and supports the company's sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct environmental site assessments, including Phase I and Phase II ESAs.
• Prepare permit applications for air, water, and waste under the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and RCRA.
• Design or review systems for stormwater, wastewater treatment, air emissions control, or remediation.
• Write SWPPPs and spill prevention (SPCC) plans and check that sites follow them.
• Collect soil, water, and air samples and interpret lab results.
• Support environmental reviews under NEPA or state equivalents.
• Track compliance deadlines and prepare reports for the EPA and state agencies.
• Model environmental data using tools such as [AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, or AERMOD].
• Advise project teams on ways to cut emissions, waste, and water use.
• Meet with regulators, clients, and contractors to resolve compliance issues.

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering.
• [X]+ years of environmental engineering or consulting experience.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification; Professional Engineer (PE) license [or IEng or CEng (UK), or CPEng (AU)] preferred or required for [senior roles].
• Working knowledge of environmental regulations, such as [EPA and state rules (US), Environment Agency rules (UK), state EPA rules (AU), or CPCB and SPCB rules (India)].
• 40-Hour HAZWOPER training [or local hazardous site training], if site work is required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Excel.
