Job summary:

We're looking for a skilled Carpenter to build, install, and repair wood and composite structures on [residential / commercial] job sites. The right person reads plans accurately, works safely with power tools, and takes pride in clean, code-compliant work.

Carpenters shape the framework and finish of every project. Accurate framing, layout, and finish work keep inspections on track, reduce rework, and help the crew hand over projects on schedule.

Key responsibilities:

• Read blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications to plan layout and material needs.
• Measure, cut, and shape lumber, plywood, engineered wood, and sheet goods to exact dimensions.
• Frame walls, floors, roofs, and stairs using wood or light-gauge steel framing.
• Install doors, windows, cabinets, trim, molding, and other finish carpentry.
• Build and strip concrete formwork, shoring, and temporary structures as needed.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and laser levels safely and keep them in working order.
• Inspect existing structures and repair or replace damaged framing, flooring, and fixtures.
• Follow workplace safety rules [such as OSHA in the US], fall protection requirements, and local building codes on every task.
• Coordinate with electricians, plumbers, and other trades to sequence work and avoid conflicts.
• Keep the work area clean and report material shortages or site issues to the supervisor.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship or trade school program, or equivalent on-the-job training.
• [X]+ years of experience in rough or finish carpentry.
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction training card, with OSHA 30-Hour preferred [or a CSCS card (UK) or a White Card (AU)].
• Working knowledge of framing methods, building codes, and blueprint reading.
• Own basic hand tools and a valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift [50] lbs ([23] kg), climb ladders and scaffolding, and work outdoors in all weather.

• Journeyman carpenter status [or an NVQ Level 3 (UK) or Certificate III in Carpentry (AU)].
