Job summary:

We're looking for a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform ultrasound exams that help physicians diagnose and monitor patient conditions at [company name]. The right person holds ARDMS or CCI credentials, captures high-quality images, and puts patients at ease.

Sonographers give radiologists and other physicians the images they need for accurate, fast diagnoses. Clear images and careful technique reduce repeat scans and improve patient care.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform ultrasound exams in [abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, or cardiac] specialties.
• Review orders, patient history, and prior studies before each exam.
• Explain procedures to patients and position them for safe, accurate scanning.
• Capture and measure images that meet protocol and ACR or IAC standards.
• Share preliminary findings with the interpreting physician and flag urgent results right away.
• Assist physicians with ultrasound-guided procedures such as biopsies and paracentesis.
• Document exams and send images to [PACS] and the [EHR].
• Clean and maintain ultrasound equipment and report problems.
• Follow infection control, HIPAA [or local privacy law], and ergonomic scanning practices.
• Help train students and new sonographers [as needed].

• Associate or bachelor's degree from a CAAHEP-accredited diagnostic medical sonography program.
• ARDMS credential such as RDMS or RVT, or CCI credential such as RCS [or RCCP or HCPC registration (UK), ASAR accreditation (AU), or a recognized sonography diploma (India)].
• Current BLS certification.
