Job summary:

We're looking for a board-certified Physiatrist to diagnose and treat patients with musculoskeletal, spine, and neurological conditions at [company name]. The right person builds rehabilitation plans that restore function and leads a team of therapists and nurses.

Physiatrists help patients recover from injury, illness, and surgery and return to daily life. Strong rehab care reduces pain, avoids unnecessary surgery, and improves function and independence.

Key responsibilities:

• Evaluate and treat patients with back and neck pain, sports injuries, stroke, spinal cord injury, and brain injury.
• Build rehabilitation plans and set functional goals with physical, occupational, and speech therapists.
• Perform and interpret EMG and nerve conduction studies.
• Perform procedures such as joint injections, trigger point injections, and [spine injections under fluoroscopy].
• Lead inpatient rehabilitation team conferences and plan safe discharges [if applicable].
• Prescribe medications, orthotics, prosthetics, and durable medical equipment.
• Manage spasticity, including botulinum toxin injections.
• Coordinate care with orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, and primary care physicians.
• Document visits and functional progress in [Epic, Oracle Health (Cerner), or other EHR].
• Follow CMS inpatient rehabilitation rules, HIPAA [or local privacy law], and opioid prescribing guidelines.

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completed ACGME-accredited residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
• Board certification or board eligibility through the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) [or a CCT in Rehabilitation Medicine (UK), FAFRM (AU), or an MD in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (India)].
• Active, unrestricted medical license in [state] [or GMC registration (UK), AHPRA registration (AU), or state medical council registration (India)] and active DEA registration [US only].
